Introduced in 1972, the Beogram 4000C turntable by BANG&OLUFSEN was recognized from the outset as both a technical revolution and an art object.
Becoming a classic, collected by art museums and included in design history books.
53 years on, the legendary Beogram 4000C remains one of the best turntables around.
It was a creative collaboration with Bang&Olufsen and designer SCARLETT HANSEN for the 100th anniversary of Bang&Olufsen and the 60th anniversary of the release of the movie GOLDFINGER.
SCARLETT HANSEN, a 19-year-old painter and designer, was inspired by the two myths celebrating their anniversaries

The innovative tangential tonearm was striking in its day, and part of the reason the original Beogram was an instant classic. But it wasn’t for looks. The way the tonearm was built made it able to play vinyl at an angle that was as close as possible to the way the record was cut. This made it truthful to the original recording.
